Some years ago, my father sadly passed away in Spain. At the time my mother and I had no plans in place for his funeral and had to rely upon the people around us to get everything organized. Whilst things went perfectly my mum sometime later felt she did not want me to have to deal with all of this on my own. So my mum called a very helpful young agent called Emma, at Golden Leaves to come and talk her through their plans. It was a very easy process they offered to pay in full option, which my mum took or you could pay over a period of time, I was skeptical at the time but understood it was my mum’s decision.

A few months ago we had a very sad event take place, my mum had always been a fun loving bubbly person, threw many parties and had lots of friends. She had a sensitive side and was always happy to help anybody if they needed it. My mum took things in her stride and lived life to the full. 

Unfortunately, she was advised that she needed to be admitted into hospital for a small operation, things took a turn for the worse and she became critically ill. Fortunately, I had flown over to Spain to stay with her whilst she was in hospital, which should have been a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, mum ended up staying in intensive care for nine weeks and after a courageous battle, we were advised by the medical team that there was no longer any hope of her surviving. I made the dreaded phone call to Emma at Golden Leaves to update them with the circumstances, Emma gave me her mobile number and advised me to call her directly. 

After some heart- breaking hours, I made the call to Emma who immediately took over. Having Emma as my contact took the stress and worry of what needed to happen next. This was invaluable at this incredibly upsetting time for both my family and myself.

Emma held my hand throughout. She came with the funeral director, Maria, to where I was staying. She organized extra days so that family members could fly out, the flowers and of course, helped with the service itself.

The entire process was efficient, professional and most importantly very caring. Emma and her team at Golden Leaves were exceptional throughout. I would also like to mention Maria from the funeral directors in Mojacar, who was compassionate and an enormous help at this very distressing time. I cannot thank them both enough for their expertise, which was greatly appreciated by myself and my family. 

The service and the flowers were exactly what my mum would have wanted. I was amazed and overwhelmed at the amount of people who attended my mum’s funeral. Everybody said that they would miss her so much, but they would especially miss her laugh. She had been a very important part of the community and seeing how much she was loved and had touched so many people’s lives. 

Mum taking out the Golden Leaves plan totally took away the stress of having to organize everything.

I cannot thank Emma and her team enough for being there for me at this most distressing time. They took away all the organizational worries for myself and my family. I would recommend anybody to contact them and take out a plan.
